Jordan and I went shopping together on Sat. She def. was in need of a few clothes. We are so thankful and blessed that we were able to get her a few items to start off her spring wardrobe. And just in time too! We are going to be traveling into some warmer weather. (leaving soon for FL to visit family and especially our sweet niece who is turning 1 yr old)
Anyhow, usually for Jordan and I, the shopping experience is not a pleasant one. We have different ideas of fashion and I have to remember that I AM in fact 40 yrs old. And while I may be a pretty hip chick...Jord. and I still have different ideas about what looks good together. This is one of those things where a parent tries to allow the child a little freedom of expression. Thankfully she is modest in her dress too. She and I agree it is important to dress her age and in modesty too....So glad Jordan thinks on these lines!
We found for her several cute outfits (on sale) and it was SUCH an enjoyable mother/daughter time. She was pleased with most everything she tried on and did not get that frustration that can come when things do not fit right for her.... Most all of the items did work for her, and she found it difficult to narrow down to what our budget allowed. Yet she picked her favorites and they are soooo cute! I'll have to get pics on that ltr. She was so happy about her choices.
Here are a few things Jordan likes to do...
Jordan loves to read these days. She can go through a chapter book in a day, and finds reading to be quite enjoyable. I love it when she comes out of her room with such excitement...and shares with zeal what is happening in her current choice book!
She also enjoys talking with her friend Haley on IM and she loves playing with her friends Alyssa and Madeline who live in our neighborhood. They jump on the trampoline, and drive around in Alyssa's golf cart back and forth between Alyssa and Madeline's yards. Usually about 5 or so kids end up piled on there together. Then they stop the golf cart and get together a ball game. Madeline has even gotten Jordan interested in playing ball...
...getting to today...which is now actually tomorrow!!! lol! (Sorry...I'm jumping around a lot, but that is just me! I like to get things down as I think of them. : )
If you read Josh's blog, you will know that Jordan was right there with the boys watching American Gladiator...and she was just as excited...(but knew better than to get in front of the TV) HA! If you haven't read his blog yet...hop on over by clicking his name...you'll get a kick outa the Gladiator moment with his dad!
....as I close...I am just thinking about how precious Jordan is. She is so good to her brother and so thoughtful to all of us. She really enjoys serving and has so many beautiful gifts! : ) I thank the Lord for our friends and family....and for our Jordie girl! I pray for our children all the time and for God's protection and care over them.
